Dr. Rich Bevan-Thomas graduated from Duke University and earned his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency at the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
After completing his residency, Dr. Rich Bevan-Thomas joined East Bay Urology in San Ramon, California, where he eventually served as chief of surgery at San Ramon Regional Medical Center. While he was there, he specialized in minimally invasive procedures — laparoscopic and robotic surgery utilizing the da Vinci surgical system.
In 2007, Dr. Rich Bevan-Thomas was invited to join Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) and helped grow the practice into one of the largest robotic surgery programs in the country. This group subsequently became USMD.
In 2019, Dr. B-T and 18 of his partners left USMD and founded Urology Partners of North Texas (UPNT), a single-specialty urology group focused on providing streamlined and cost-effective urologic care.
Since then, he has worked as a consultant for Intuitive Surgical, assisting with education and video presentations. He is also an instructor for Endocare in prostate and kidney cryoablation.
